Pomme De Terre- Light foot Ramp

5/12/2007

Lightfoot Ramp at Pomme De Terre was the sight of the third event in the Best of the Best tournament trail this past Saturday and fishermen were greeted with a magnificent day on the water. The warm weather and high water provided loads of opportunities for shallow bites and over half the field weighed in a five fish limit. The race for the top spot was a close one as less then ½ pound separated first and second place. Presiding over the event was the fine Center City Marine team of Gary Kilburn, Terry Eckley, Perry Ayres, and Ben Henderson. The real brains behind the scene was powered by Mrs. Billy Bird, along with Mrs. Gary Kilburn, and Mrs. Perry Ayres, who keep the facts and figured straight. Acting as security was none other then “Levi the Wonder Dog” who kept order and harmony throughout the entire event.

 Are you talking to me?

Walking away with first place was the team of Jimmy and Jackie Davis and $1,626 in prize money plus the Yamaha $500 bonus money. Jimmy and Jackie have two Best of the Best wins this year and look to make it a triple play next month at Table Rock.

Greg DeGase awaits his five fish total as Jimmy Davis looks on.

In second place was the team of Greg DeGase and Dave Miller who managed to take home $800 in prize money plus the $200 Humming Bird/Minn Kota bonus.

Small stringer went to the team of JR Cendroski and Eric Kitsner with a largemouth going 1.04 lbs. giving them a check for $150.

We'd like to see your fish, but someone made a sandwich out of it.

This day saw lots of spectators at the weigh-in and long bag lines as the Best of the Best fishermen really put Pomme to the test and brought in tons of fish. Center City also provided fishermen with great prizes which included batteries form Batteries Outfitters, chargers from Minn Kota, tackle provided by Luck E Strike and Eiron Breaker Lures, and quality oil provided by Yamaha.

An arm full of prizes!                                                                               The crowd watches all the festivities.

Now who said that the number 13 wasn’t lucky? Just ask Bryon Lippert and Doug Vahrenberg who took home a new Yamaha jacket as part of the Lucky 13 prize. For an inside look at the days events, take a look at Doug’s journal entry on www.724outdoors.com

Byron said he'd share with Doug, he gets the plastic wrap!

Center City would like to thank the following sponsors: Skeeter Boats, Yamaha, Minn Kota, Humminbird, Dennis Hanks Chevrolet, Aurora Canvas, Purcell Tires, Team Luck “E” Strike, Basswishes Tackle CO., Pro-Guide Bartteries, and Pro-Control Foot Trays. A special thanks goes out to Central ProAm’s own Kevin Bowling for taking care of the release boat.

Our next event in the series will be at Table Rock Lake on June 30 out of Ahoy’s. For further information check out the Center City website and click on the link to the Best of the Best tournament trail.
